New Danfo Toilets to be Proud of in Portishead, UK

Opening ceremony of new Danfo toilet in Portishead

Portishead Town Council cut the ribbon and declared the new Danfo refurbished toilets open on Friday 22 November 2013. They have been closed since April after North Somerset Council withdrew the funding for running the district’s public facilities.

The town council took on responsibility for the run down toilets after their closure as they are the only public toilets in the town centre and serves around 1,400 toilet visitors a week.

”We are a civilised society and expect public toilets in Portishead and need to provide something that as a town council we can be proud of.” – Councillor Alan McMurray

”The toilets replace the unloved ones with two new, semi-automatic loos. The council is flushed with pride.” – Portishead Town Council Clerk Jo Duffy

The toilets are located on Wyndham Way and will be open from 8am-10pm every day. They provide one toilet suitable for disabled users and a unit for changing babies.
